Try out drama next term!

Term Three registrations are open for our term-based drama programs at our Paddington, St Peters and Ashgrove locations and as our holiday program registrations are closing soon, we thought we’d post about why we think your young person should try drama this term.

To explore their voice as a storyteller and as a person.

Our students learn how to tell powerful and engaging stories that reflect their voice and interests. We take on their experiences and what inspires them as young people and harness it to create stories for stage that all students can take pride in.

To learn how to negotiate and share ideas.

At Play on Stage, all our classes work together as an ensemble. That means that all ideas are shared, all voices are heard, and everyone works together to ensure that performances reflect the strengths of everyone in class. Collaboration is key in creative spaces, as there’s no better feeling than working with your friends to build something special for stage.

To create a piece of art as group for a public showing at the end of the semester.

Our term-based programs always culminate in an end of semester production that is staged in front of our students’ friends and families. It’s an opportunity for our young performers to take everything they have been building for the past two terms with their class, and channel it into a memorable performance that puts their skills, knowledge, and confidence in the spotlight.

To be a part of a safe, inclusive space where everyone is accepted for who they are.

Our facilitators work hard to ensure that Play on Stage is a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space that opens its doors for all children. We want our students to express themselves for who they are and use their self-confidence to become strong performers and artists.

To work with facilitators who not only work in the arts industry, but genuinely care about your child.

Our team at Play on Stage have various acting, performing, and directing credits to their name, across a broad range of theatre. They are also trained in strong educational principles that allow them to connect with their students and use their professional expertise to help everyone grow as performers.
