Why We're Offering Early Bird Tickets for ‘The Paige Turner Bookshop’
At Play on Stage, we believe theatre should be something that brings people together, not something that feels out of reach.
That's why we're excited to offer early bird tickets for our upcoming original youth production, The Paige Turner Bookshop, from as little as $8 per ticket.
Over the past few years, many Brisbane families have had to think more carefully about where they spend their money. Rising living costs have made experiences like live theatre harder to justify, even though they remain such an important way for families to spend quality time together. We know that choosing an outing at the theatre often means weighing it up against a long list of other expenses.
We wanted to remove as many of those barriers as possible.
Thanks to the generous support of the Australian Cultural Fund's Boost Grant, we're able to offer discounted early bird tickets, making it easier for more families to experience original Brisbane theatre without stretching the household budget.

A New Story for Brisbane Families
The Paige Turner Bookshop is an original play written by our resident playwright Harry Fritsch and directed by Play on Stage's Artistic Director, Virag Dombay.
The story follows six young people who wander into a mysterious neighbourhood bookshop in search of a good read. Instead, they discover stories that are thrilling, surprising and deeply personal. Guided by the enigmatic Miss Paige, each visitor finds themselves embarking on an unexpected journey that explores the power of books, imagination and the stories that help shape who we become.
Filled with humour, warmth, heart and just a touch of magic, The Paige Turner Bookshop is a celebration of reading and storytelling that the whole family can enjoy together.
Supporting Original Australian Theatre
Choosing to attend The Paige Turner Bookshop is about more than seeing a performance.
It's also an opportunity to support original Australian theatre and the young artists who bring it to life.
At Play on Stage, we're passionate about creating new work for young audiences rather than relying solely on established titles. Every original production gives young performers the opportunity to tell stories that are fresh, meaningful and written with them in mind, while also helping audiences discover something they won't find anywhere else.
Supporting original theatre means supporting local writers, directors, performers and creatives who continue to enrich Brisbane's cultural community.
