It’s our first birthday! A love letter to our community.
Play on Stage has officially turned one years old. How time flies!
Thank you to all of the members of our community who came up to celebrate at our ‘Birthday Bash’ community night last Saturday. We had a range of performances - from original skits, to professional hula-hooping, to musical items - we truly did have it all. We are always in awe of our student community and our facilitators always jump at a chance to perform!

What a twelve months it has been! In just one year, we have achieved many things, from doubling our class offerings and student numbers, to staging five professional productions—each of which paid our young actors.
And while we’re grateful for the tireless work of our team of dedicated facilitators, at the end of the day, we couldn’t have done any of it without you! Our students, parents, support teachers, and anyone else in our community who has shown Play on Stage the incredible support we continue to receive.

Without your support, we wouldn’t be able to run the classes, holiday programs, productions, and workshops that help elevate the arts opportunities for young people in Brisbane. Whether you are a parent who drives their kid to class each week of the term or an audience member who has ever bought a ticket to one of our plays, your support—no matter how small it may seem—means so much to us.
You don’t need us to tell you just how underfunded and under supported the arts in Queensland is, and this is especially true for young people. At Play on Stage, we try to fill this gap with our youth drama classes and productions, and every student fee, donation, or even a kind word-of-mouth recommendation to a friend goes a long way towards helping us achieve that dream.

So know that this one-year celebration is as much a celebration of you as it is for the business itself. Play on Stage is more than just the facilitators and programs. It’s everyone in our community, and we think it’s a pretty special one for sure.
