Play on Stage’s 2025 Year in Review
At the beginning of 2025, Play on Stage didn’t exist. Officially founded in April 2025 by our Creative Director and business owner, Virag Dombay, Play on Stage has since flourished into a welcoming ecosystem where the young people of Brisbane can gather to express their creativity, form lasting friendships, perform impactful works, and, above all else, play on stage!
As we are currently in the break before our 2026 programs resume, now is the perfect time to reflect back on the year that was. Here are some of the main year-defining stats for Play on Stage in 2025 and what it meant for our families, students, facilitators, and performers.
4 Professional Productions
And 19 professional debuts for young Brisbane actors aged between 8-15. The 4 critically-acclaimed productions we put on this year were:

Written and produced for a variety of audiences in venues across Brisbane, these productions showcased our commitment to staging original, thought-provoking works that speak to all age groups.
500+ Participants
That’s across our term-based drama programs, school holiday programs, and in-school workshops. Each of these 500+ participants enjoyed our high-quality drama classes that resulted in 16 student productions, hundreds of hours of games, countless improvisation activities, and by our count, 3240-ish games of Crazy Pig/Unicorn.
Most of all, these hundreds of Play on Stage students were given the opportunity to express their creative voices in a safe and welcoming environment led by a team of experienced, passionate facilitators.
4 Publications Published
Play on Stage opened its publishing doors in 2025, publishing 4 of our original works as either standalone plays or collections of plays. Keep an eye out, as we have more exciting works planned for 2026 and beyond!
